Direct the Longings of Your Heart to God

As human beings, all the time, our minds are sending out signals - hopes, fears, wishes, regrets, thank-yous, expressions of wonder.

What is needed for prayer to happen is for us to direct those signals to God.

Archbishop Anthony Bloom

Prayer is the poetry of spirituality. Whether spoken, written or simply felt at the depth of our beings, prayer conveys in images, emotions and symbols the longings of our heart.

Sometimes our own words fail us, and we need others to pray for us, or we need to lean on the words that others have crafted, and which we adopt as our own. My hope is that these prayers may fulfil this function for you.
