We celebrate your life, O God,

            that, like a light, reveals our true colours

                        and brings our shadows into sight;

 

We celebrate Your life, O God,

            that, like a song, teaches us our place in Your harmony

                        and forces us to re-train the discordant voices within us;

 

We celebrate Your life, O God,

            that, like a field, allows both wheat and weeds to grow

                        until we learn to tell the difference

                        and keep only what nourishes;

 

We celebrate Your life, O God,

            gracious and true and transforming

            abundant and eternal.
