SACREDISE v.(say-crid-ize): To make sacred; to esteem as of transcendent value; to identify as spiritual, filled with the divine or connected with the life of God. The Sacredise Web Site is part of the Sacredise Liturgical Consultancy - a ministry that helps Christian leaders and people to live and worship fully, creatively and mindfully, and to create spiritual experiences that help others to do the same. Sacredise is built around a philosphy of integrative Christian spirituality within a liturgical framework.
So, take your time, look around, make yourself at home and enjoy exploring integrative Christian spirituality and worship. Feel free to use and share the resources on this site, but please remember to acknowledge where you got them! Sacredise.com was created by John van de Laar "Ever since first meeting John van de Laar several years ago, I have been struck by his unique gifts of mind and heart that have enabled him to make a significant contribution to the worship life of the local congregation. Whatever John does in worship is consistently characterized by a deep respect for the past, a creative openness to the new and a deep love for God and God's people. I have learnt more from him about designing worship events within the contemporary context than from anyone else I know." Trevor Hudson
John's work includes training of congegations, worship
leaders and ministers in the theology and practice of worship,
production of resources for transforming worship and publishing of his
books and CDs. He is a prolific writer, contributing to many
international blogs and publications, and he blogs regularly at
Sacredise, and through the Lectionary Worship
Resources Blog. John holds a Masters degree in the Theology of Worship Music from UNISA. He is married to Debbie (who is also a Methodist minister), and they have two sons. |
